Manjedal Activities Centre- Accommodation Guide

DAY VISITS
Day visitors without an overnight stay at Manjedal can come in for just the day and participate in activities or just to enjoy the surrounds.

GILWELL
Gilwell consists of:
60 bed dormitory building, comprising ten rooms with three double bunks in each room and a middle common room and 13 bed caterers’ quarters
Shower and toilet facilities with power
Fully equipped kitchen with a walk in cool room, freezer, 2 commercial ovens and stoves, microwave, commercial toaster, urns,
crockery, cutlery, baking/cooking trays, pots and pans
Separate dining room with tables and chairs
Two other halls, one carpeted with fireplace
Separate male and female / leaders toilets and shower / disabled in main building
Gas barbecue, parade ground and flag pole, private camp fire rotunda


 

THE YOUTH CENTRE
The Youth Centre consists of:
78 bed dormitory building, comprising two open areas of twelve double bunks in each; four rooms with three double bunks in each, one room with two double bunks, one room with one double bunk and 4 bed caterers’ quarters
Shower and toilet facilities with power and for disabled, shared with The Lair
Fully equipped kitchen with a walk in cool room, freezer, commercial oven and microwave
Crockery, cutlery, baking/cooking trays, pots and pans are included
One hall for dining, activities etc, with a fireplace, large blackboard, tables and chairs
Gas barbecue, parade ground and flag pole, outside fire ring


 

THE LAIR
The Lair consists of:
Shower and toilet facilities with power, shared with The Youth Centre
Camp kitchen cabin with wood stove, four burner gas top, large domestic refrigerator/freezer, pantry
Bring your own crockery and cutlery
Separate barn for activities, wet weather accommodation etc, with large blackboard and tables and chairs.
A tent camping area adjacent to the buildings with a fire ring

THE LODGE
The Lodge consists of:
Three double bunks and mirrored dresser.
Kitchen equipped with domestic gas cooker, domestic refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, utensils, electric kettle, crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment
Dining area with dining table and chairs
Outdoor patio area with gas barbecue
Shower and toilet facilities with lighting.


 

CAMPING
Many numbered campsites of varying sizes are spread through the northern section of Manjedal.
The camp grounds are serviced with ablution blocks containing toilets and showers.
All blocks have hot water and lighting, whether by electricity or solar power.
Water taps, waste and recycling stations are also located throughout the campgrounds.
Large shelters are situated on the camp grounds, for use by campers.
BBQ’s, Camp tables and benches are stored at each shelter for use for all camp sites.
